Directions of the research activity:

  • cationic polymerization of vinyl monomers

  • heterogeneous and homogeneous Ziegler-Natta type catalysis

  • anionic ring-opening polymerization of heterocyclic monomers   (lactones, caprolactam)

  • synthesis of amphiphilic block copolymers using RITP

           

  

  main achievements:

  • synthesis of well-defined poly(styrene)s by living cationic polymerization using AlCl3-based initiating systems;

  • design of the new initiating systems for aqueous suspension and emulsion cationic polymerization of styrene, p-methoxystyrene, p-hydroxystyrene and cyclopentadiene;

  • synthesis of “highly reactive” polyisobutylene via cationic polymerization using a modified AlCl3-based initiating system;

  • creation of new catalysts for syndiospecific styrene polymerization and ring-opening polymerization of cyclic esters based on titanium complexes of dialkanolamine ligands
